On February 6th 2009 we lost one of our own, Gregory Andrew Paroulek. A sophomore composition major and percussionist, Greg passed on at only nineteen years of age. We continue to miss him every day!
On April 29th 2009 UD Department of Music students and faculty presented a concert of Greg's compositions in Gore Recital Hall to a packed audience of friends and family members.
In his memory, Anne and Joseph Paroulek, Greg's parents, have created two awards: one in composition and one in percussion. These awards are given to graduating seniors in order to help them pursue the next step in their career. The Composition and Percussion Studios are sincerely grateful to Anne and Joseph for this wonderful gift, and actively work alongside them to ensure that, not only is Greg remembered, but that his music continues to live on.
